Australia's Victoria state to deepen contact tracing programme
Australia's Victoria state is deepening its contact tracing programme to try to maintain a steady decline in daily new cases amid criticism of its handling of the crisis.
Victoria state reported 55 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, an increase from the previous day's 41 cases.
The Covid-19 tally in the state accounts for about 75 per cent of Australia's nearly 26,400 cases and 90 per cent of its 770 deaths.
